How Therapy Works

Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. That’s why I integrate different therapeutic approaches to create a space that fits your needs. I use principles from these approaches to tailor a treatment plan specifically for you.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Helps you let go of self-judgment and take meaningful action toward the life you want.

  • Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT): Supports you in developing a kinder, more understanding relationship with yourself.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Helps identify and change unhelpful thought patterns that keep you stuck.

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples: Strengthens emotional connection and communication in relationships.

We’ll work together to find what works best for you, without the pressure of a rigid formula.

Virtual Therapy: Support on Your Terms

Online therapy in Louisiana and Florida makes it easier to get the help you need, whether you’re at home, at work, or anywhere with a private space and reliable internet.

Virtual therapy offers:

  • Convenience – No traffic jams, no waiting rooms. Just therapy that fits into your life.

  • Comfort – Talk from your own space, where you feel safe and at ease.

  • Accessibility – This is for you if you live a bit out of town, in a rural area, or if you’re just seeking more flexible support.

While virtual therapy is a great option for many, it may not be the best fit for everyone. If I believe you would benefit from a different level of care, I’ll help you find the right support.

Your Questions, Answered: FAQ About Virtual Therapy in Louisiana and Florida

  • Therapy with me is collaborative and tailored to you. I provide a non-judgmental space where we can explore what’s working, what’s not, and what steps will help you move forward. I’ll be open and transparent, and I welcome your input every step of the way.

  • Yes! I offer a free 20-minute phone or video consultation. This is a chance for us to connect, talk about what you’re looking for, and see if we’re a good fit.

  • Many insurance plans cover out-of-network therapy. If you’re unsure, I recommend calling your provider and asking:

    • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?

    • What’s my deductible, and how much have I met?

    • What percentage of therapy costs will be reimbursed?

    • Is there a limit on sessions per year?

    • How do I submit claims?

I’ll provide a super-bill that you can submit for potential reimbursement.

  • Yes! Research shows that online therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy for many mental health concerns. Virtual therapy provides the same professional support, helping you navigate challenges, build coping skills, and improve your well-being… all from a setting that feels comfortable and safe for you.

  • To get the most out of virtual therapy, you’ll need:

    • A stable internet connection

    • A private, quiet space where you can speak freely

    • A device with a camera and microphone (computer, tablet, or phone)

    • Headphones (optional, but helpful for privacy and better audio quality)

  • I provide virtual therapy across the entire state of Louisiana. Whether you're in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Lafayette, or any other city or rural area, as long as you're in Louisiana, we can work together through online sessions.

  • I provide virtual therapy across the entire state of Florida. Whether you're in Jacksonville, Miami, Tampa, Orlando, or any other city or rural area, as long as you're in Florida, we can work together through online sessions.
