Compassionate Online Therapy for Individuals & Couples

Virtual therapy session with a therapist, offering compassionate support in Louisiana.

Hi, I’m Laura! I’m a virtual therapist based in New Orleans, Louisiana. I work with both individuals and couples across Louisiana and Florida.

My approach is warm, honest, and collaborative.

Through our work together, my goal is to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your relationships, and your patterns so that you can move forward in a way that feels true and authentic to you.

Before becoming a therapist, I studied literature at Louisiana State University. My early career was spent as a crisis counselor, working with people in some of the hardest moments of their lives. I went on to earn my master’s degree from Tulane School of Social Work in 2018, and I have nearly a decade of experience helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, eating disorders, relationship struggles, grief, and life transitions.

I am committed to lifelong learning and have undergone extensive training in treating eating disorders, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

But way beyond my credentials, what matters most is that I truly care about the people I work with. I believe in showing up as my full, authentic self in sessions so that you can feel comfortable doing the same.

What Therapy with Me is Like

I aim to create a space where you feel truly seen and heard. It’s also a place to be real, to challenge yourself, and to take action. I create a space where you can show up as you are, without filtering your thoughts or saying what you think you’re “supposed” to say.

Here, you can be vulnerable and honest while also being held accountable to the changes you want to make. Together, we’ll work toward real, meaningful change.

We aren’t working on “fixing” you. We’re helping you understand yourself better so that you can make choices that align with your values and needs.

I promise to show up as a real person in sessions, compassionate, honest, and sometimes even lighthearted when it’s needed. I believe that therapy is serious work, but that doesn’t mean it has to feel heavy all the time.

Individual Therapy

Maybe your thoughts feel overwhelming, constantly racing with worry or self-doubt. You might be feeling stuck in the same patterns. Or you might struggle with your relationship with food and your body, constantly feeling like these thoughts take up too much space in your mind.

You might be going through a major life transition, like starting college, a new job, or the end of a relationship, and feel lost or disconnected from yourself. Have you asked yourself, “Why do I keep doing the same thing over and over again?”

These feelings can affect every area of your life, making it hard to focus, connect with loved ones, or enjoy the things you used to love.

Therapy is a space where you can work through these struggles with non-judgemental support and guidance.

My approach is about helping you understand yourself more deeply, recognize patterns that may be holding you back, and find ways to create a life that feels meaningful and connected.

In the short term, therapy can provide clarity and relief. It’ll give you the tools to manage stress, anxiety, or self-doubt.

With a dedication to therapy and to yourself, you can and will build a strong foundation of self-acceptance, confidence, and emotional well-being.

Couples Therapy

Relationships can be complicated…. Well, the truth is that relationships ARE complicated.

Even when you love each other deeply, it’s easy to fall into patterns of miscommunication, distance, or conflict

Maybe you and your partner feel like you’re having the same argument over and over again without resolution. Maybe trust has been broken, and you’re unsure how to rebuild it. Or maybe you just feel disconnected, like something is missing.

Couples therapy can help you understand these patterns and shift them in a way that brings you closer.

I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) as a foundation for couples therapy. EFT is an approach that helps couples recognize negative cycles, communicate more openly, and strengthen their emotional bond
Couples therapy can help you gain insight into what’s happening beneath the surface. For example, you can figure out why your partner always gets triggered when you ask to put down their phone. Or why your spouse tends to shut down after a disagreement.
The end goal is that you feel more hopeful about your relationship. Where you feel that you’re building, together, a secure, connected partnership where you feel safe, understood, and valued.
